Invisalign vs Six Month Smile

They're many adults that want to correct their smile and achieve the confidence that comes from straight teeth.  There are a number of products on the market that promise to deliver a straight smile quickly, effectively and permanently.  Two of these products are Six Month Smiles and Invisalign.  Sometimes it is challenging to choose the product that is right for the individual’s circumstances and budget.  This comparison will help patients choose between these popular and effective products.

Should I Choose Six Month Smiles or Invisalign?

1.      What Product Works more quickly?

As the name implies, Six Month Smiles works in as little as six months.  Invisalign takes double the time at approximately twelve months.  For many adults that do not want to wear teeth correction products or do not have the time or energy for their upkeep, Six Month Smiles takes much less time to achieve the same results.

2.      How Do These Products Work?

The Six Month Smiles technique uses cutting edge dental technology and techniques in to move teeth quickly and safely.  This is achieved with the use of clear adult braces. The key components of the treatment are the use of unique, clear braces and a primary focus of moving the teeth that show when you smile.

The Invisalign method uses aligner trays that are made of smooth and invisible plastic that is worn over the teeth. Each individual has custom-made aligner trays, which are created from a mold or digital scan.  This is done in order to treat the patient’s unique dental profile. The invisible aligners gradually shift and straighten teeth with little discomfort.

Unlike traditional braces, both products are more comfortable and convenient, allowing patients to eat almost any food, and brush and floss with ease. They are both virtually invisible, and do not negatively affect the aesthetic appearance of the patient.  Regardless of the choice between these two products there’s no sharp metal, uncomfortable brackets or wires, which need to be tightened.

3.      What is the Main Difference between Invisalign and Six Month Smiles?

The main difference between Six Month Smiles and Invisalign is that Six Month Smiles uses a traditional bracket and elastic system in its design that has been engineered to result in more powerful tooth movement, whereas Invisalign uses a series of removable aligners to move teeth into place.

Six Month Smiles uses a fixed bracket system.  This bracket system remains in place for the duration of treatment. Both options offer a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional braces. Neither of these systems involves the unsightly metal used in traditional braces.

The best way to determine which teeth straightening system is right for your needs and dental goal is to book an appointment with a dentist for a consultation and assessment.  The dentist will take many factors into consideration such as facial structure, extend of results that are necessary and budget, and will make recommendations based on these criterias.
